It was an honour to speak at the Ashfield Carnival of Cultures and the Bairro Português - Petersham Food and Wine Fair on Sunday.

These events are an annual celebration of our multicultural society and highlight the valuable contribution our diverse communities make to the nation.
It was great to see that although the rain dampened the stalls, it most certainly did not dampen the atmosphere.
Hundreds of people turned out to participate in the festivities, notwithstanding the inclement weather.
It is a privilege to be the Member for Grayndler- the Inner West is a vibrant multicultural area and I will always be committed to supporting our diverse multicultural communities.
The high level of attendance shows that our communities are at their best when they work together, building friendships across neighbourhoods and across different cultures.
The Ashfield Carnival of Cultures and the Bairro Português - Petersham Food and Wine Fair can be proud of this achievement and I congratulate them on their success.
