Labor To Deliver $50 Million To The Calder Freeway

A Shorten Labor Government will invest $50 million to upgrade the Calder Freeway between Gap Road and the M80.
This election is a choice between a Shorten Labor Government with a plan to invest in our roads, or bigger tax loopholes for the top end of town under the Liberals.
We need real change because more of the same isn’t good enough.
The proposed upgrade will deliver enormous benefits to the outer suburbs of Melbourne’s west and north west, to as far as Bendigo, by reducing congestion, improving travel times and increasing safety.
Unlike the Liberal’s, Federal Labor will work with the Andrews Labor Government to see this $50 million investment in Calder Freeway delivered.
A Shorten Labor Government will prioritise investment in road infrastructure to keep pace with population growth.
Labor recognises that the outer suburbs of Melbourne’s west and north west are experiencing significant population and employment growth through the emergence of new suburbs, and are in desperate need of improved roads to meet the growing demand.
A Shorten Labor Government will work closely with the Andrews Labor Government to deliver a plan for the Calder Freeway.
After six years of Liberal cuts and chaos, our united Labor team is ready.
