Upgrades Completed At Bencubbin Recreation Complex

Bencubbin sporting groups have a great new facility with the opening of the $55,000 upgrade to the Recreation Complex today.

The Rudd Labor Government provided the $55,000 to the Shire of Mount Marshall from the $1 billion Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program for the works.

The project involved the construction of a 150 square metre storage room for local clubs and associations to store equipment and utilities.

The local sporting teams and associations all use the recreation complex for their activities and they now have a much needed storage facility for their equipment.

By increasing the storage at the facility, each sporting club and association will now have greater accessibility to their equipment.

The new area will also encourage more community groups to utilise the facility, as they will be able to store all equipment safely and securely.

Twenty eight local jobs were created during the construction of the facility – and with thousands of projects like this underway around Australia we are delivering many thousands more jobs.

The Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program, part of the Government’s Nation Building – Economic Stimulus Plan, is delivering quality long-term infrastructure and providing jobs in local communities across Australia.

I congratulate the Shire of Mount Marshall and the local community for delivering this great recreation facility.
