White Ribbon Breakfast In Haberfield

Wests Tigers players will join local Labor Members Anthony Albanese and Verity Firth at a White Ribbon breakfast to raise awareness among Australian men and boys about the roles they can play to prevent violence against women.

The Breakfast will be held at the Haberfield Post Restaurant on Wednesday 1 December at 7.30 a.m. and will cost $25 a head.

“The elimination of violence against women is an issue I am passionate about,” said Mr Albanese.

“The statistics are shocking. One in three women will experience physical violence in their lifetime and one in five will experience sexual violence.”

White Ribbon Day began in Canada in 1991 and came to Australia in 2003. Anthony Albanese is one of around a thousand White Ribbon Ambassadors across Australia.

Mr Albanese encouraged all Inner West men to swear the oath to end men’s violence against women at myoath.com.au
