Fraser Coast Intersection To Be Made Safer

Work has commenced on the $5.4 million Bruce Highway and Torbanlea–Pialba Road intersection project as part of the Gillard Labor Government’s $440 million Bruce Highway Safety Package.
This Nation Building Project is fully funded by the Australian Government and was part of a $2.8 billion commitment to improving the Bruce Highway.
The works involve the construction of a separated left-turn lane for southbound traffic to safely exit the Bruce Highway, which will help to address the number of crashes at the intersection.
Almost 7,000 motorists - including many heavy vehicle operators - use this section of the Bruce Highway every day.
The works will also improve visibility for vehicles leaving the Torbanlea–Pialba Road and turning northbound onto the highway.
This project is just one part of the Australia Government’s $8.5 billion investment in Queensland’s road infrastructure.
