Government Re-announces Re-accouncement

Not content with making re-announcements of Labor Government-funded road  projects, the Coalition is now resorting to re-announcing its re-announcements.

During the recent Western Australian Senate election, barely a day passed without the Abbott Government re-announcing road projects conceived and funded by the previous Labor Government or opening completed projects, such as the Esperance Port Access Road.
The Coalition did not announce a single new investment, instead promoting Labor projects to conceal its lack of an infrastructure agenda and its plan to slash $500 million from the existing Budget for public transport projects in Perth.
Today the Assistant to the Infrastructure Minister has re-announced an upgrade to WA’s Great Northern Highway – a Labor Government-funded project he already re-announced earlier this year.
When Labor took office in 2007, Australia was 20th out of 25 OECD countries in terms of infrastructure development as a proportion of GDP.
Because of Labor’s record investment, Australia now ranks first.
