Stay Safe This Holiday Period

We’ve reached that time of year again when it’s important to remember to stay safe on our roads over the Xmas and New Year holiday period.
As Transport Minister, I join road with safety experts, police and medical professionals, who are calling on all road users to act responsibly.
It’s a simple message but it’s important to remember so we can all arrive at our destinations safely.
The safety of you and your family is in your hands, so take your time and focus on driving.
There will be more police on our roads and the penalties for breaking the law at this time of year are much harsher.
Don’t risk losing your license or your life by taking risks.
Don’t rush and don’t get behind the wheel if you’re tired or have been drinking.
Even if you think you are a good driver, every death on our roads involves human factors.
Have a safe and happy holiday season.
