Albanese Congratulates Marrickville Queen's Baton Relay Runners

Anthony Albanese, Federal Member for Grayndler, has extended his congratulations to Cameron Ball, Linda-Maree James and Fay Roditis, all Marrickville residents, for being chosen to participate in the Queen’s Baton Relay for the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games.

Mr Albanese said, “The Queen’s Baton Relay is a great tradition and has become an important symbol of the gathering of people from across the Commonwealth.”

Ms Roditis, Ms James and Mr Ball will carry the baton in Liverpool NSW, Wagga Wagga NSW and Cardinia VIC respectively as the Queen’s Baton makes its way through Australia before the Games’ commencement.

Mr Albanese said, “I am sure the relay will be an extremely memorable experience for these three Marrickville residents. I wish them all the best for their participation in the Queen’s Baton Relay.”
