Today, I announce the reappointment of David Forsyth as Chair of the Airservices Australia Board and Henk Meertens as a Board Member, as well as the appointment of Jude Munro as a new Member of the Board.
I am pleased that Mr Forsyth has agreed to serve a second term as Chair of the Airservices Board to continue to bring his considerable aviation knowledge and experience to Airservices’ critical infrastructure and capital investment program.
Ms Munro will take up her position from this Thursday and brings extensive experience to the Board across senior roles in public administration, corporate governance, local government, transport and investment.
Mr Meertens will continue to make a valuable contribution, bringing his wealth of aviation experience to chair the Board’s Safety and Environment Committee.
These appointments will continue Airservices’ focus on delivering core air traffic and aerodrome rescue and fire fighting services, investing in vital aviation safety infrastructure, and improving workforce capability and planning.
On behalf of the Australian Government I thank outgoing Board Member Alice Williams for her dedicated service to the Airservices Board since 2005.
Airservices provides air traffic control management and other airside services to the aviation industry.
Its coverage extends over 11 per cent of the world’s surface, and more than 4 million domestic and international flights carrying about 63 million passengers each year.
Airservices has an important role in implementing initiatives in the Government’s National Aviation Policy White Paper.
