The Rudd Labor Government’s Economic Security Strategy will begin to deliver for more than 21,000 pensioners and carers, and 7,600 families in Grayndler this week.
Pensioners will receive a down payment of $1,400 for singles and $2,100 for couples. Carers, disability support and aged pensioners, seniors and veterans will also benefit.
As well, people who are receiving a Carer Allowance will receive $1,000 for each eligible person being cared for.
7,600 Families receiving Family Tax Benefit A will also receive immediate financial support through the Strategy with a one-off payment of $1,000 for each eligible child in their care.
“These payments will provide a direct benefit to families, pensioners and carers. It will also provide a boost to the local economy,” said Anthony Albanese.
