Exciting New Life For Haberfield Post Office

Anthony Albanese, will today open the restored Haberfield Post Office Building in its new incarnation as Haberfield Post restaurant (formerly Il Goloso, of Ramsay Street).

The Post Office Building dates to 1914 and is a magnificent example of the Garden Suburb’s Federation architecture.

Mr Albanese welcomed both the sensitive restoration of the important heritage landmark and its new lease on life as a family restaurant.

“This is a real win for the many Haberfield residents who have campaigned for the retention and restoration of the old Post Office ever since its sale by Australia post some ten years ago.”

“Local people are rightly very proud and protective of their unique heritage suburb.”

“I’m delighted that the old Post Office will resume its place at the heart of life in Haberfield,” said Anthony Albanese.
