Greens Getting Cocky In Grayndler

Federal Member for Grayndler, Anthony Albanese today expressed disappointed with Sam Byrne’s recent tweet saying he was ‘heading to Canberra today to case the joint’ (@GreenSamByrne, Twitter 12.35PM Jul 13th).

“This is evidence of the Greens Party’s arrogant attitude to seats like Grayndler,” said Mr Albanese.

“We have a vibrant, diverse community with progressive views who want a representative who will give voice to their views and deliver real solutions.

“Sam Byrne and the Greens Party seem to think that empty promises will deliver them seats like Grayndler.

“But when push comes to shove, they’re all talk and no action. The Greens Party had an opportunity to vote for legislation which would have placed a price on carbon and a cap on carbon emissions.

“They chose political games rather than real solutions.

“I want to be re-elected as Member for Grayndler to continue delivering real solutions for the people of the Inner West - not just empty promises.

“During almost 12 years of the Howard Government, the Inner West received nothing.

“Since 2007, the Federal Labor Government has delivered substantial investment into our local community with $150 million for a new state-of-the-art cancer treatment and research facility at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital; over $75 million into new classrooms, halls and libraries in the schools of the Inner West; and over$10 million into projects like Ashfield Civic Centre, Leichhardt Oval, Mackey Park, the Italian Forum and the Infants Home.

“These investments would not have happened without a Federal Labor Government.
