LNP abandon Far South Coast

Tony Abbott and his mates in the LNP state Government have abandoned the Far South Coast, joining forces to slash services, pensions, schools, TAFE and the ABC while trying to claim credit for Labor projects.

Unemployment on the Far South Coast is in double digits but there is no plan for jobs from the state or federal LNP.

Peter Hendy has stood silent as Tony Abbott slashes pensions and veterans entitlements, attacks Medicare and seeks to limit access of regional students to university.

As NSW State Treasurer, local Bega MP Andrew Constance has slashed funding to his own community, including for critical services, local schools and TAFE.

The former federal Labor Government promised, funded and built the $60 million Bega Bypass, creating 360 new jobs and take 500 trucks off the main street of Bega each day.

Labor welcomed its opening in December 2013, where LNP MPs Peter Hendy and Andrew Constance tried to claim credit for the project.

Instead of trying to claim credit for Labor projects, the LNP should invest in the next wave of infrastructure for the Far South Coast to help create jobs and grow the local economy.

Only Leanne Atkinson, Country Labor’s Candidate for Bega will stand up for the local community and invest in the Far South Coast.
