An Albo Ale to Celebrate the Reopening of NSW

Congratulations New South Wales.

Yesterday I visited Willie the Boatman Brewery in St Peters for an Albo Ale, as they reopened after a really tough couple of months.

It is fantastic that people in Sydney and throughout New South Wales are able to enjoy some more freedoms this week. People have really been missing that personal contact that comes from being able to go to a restaurant or to a pub.

A huge congratulations to small business owners across NSW and in my electorate of Grayndler. I know that they have struggled. The fact that small businesses like Willie the Boatman kept staff on was because of their commitment to their workforce. I congratulate them for being able to get through this.

But we know the job is not done yet, people still need to follow the guidelines. We can’t afford to be complacent and to slip back into hard lockdowns.

We still need to continue to get those vaccination rates up. So if you can get vaccinated, go and do it today. It is very important that we’re able to return to life as normal.

You can read or watch my press conference yesterday here.
