Qantaslink Voted World’s Best Regional Airline
Today I’m pleased to offer congratulations to QantasLink which has been named 2012 World’s Best Regional Airline of the Year by leading industry journal Air Transport World.
QantasLink received the award for providing an extensive network and exceptional service to people in remote and regional areas of Australia.
It provides a vital service to people living long distances from major centres who need to travel for a range of reasons including for work and leisure.
QantasLink has been operating since 1949 and has come a long way. It now supports more than 50 metropolitan and regional connections and provides links to other major Qantas routes.
Congratulations to QantasLink and its hard working staff for receiving this award - the fantastic service provided to people outside our major cities has now been recognised internationally.
The long-term outlook for regional aviation and operators like QantasLink is extremely positive, with many emerging opportunities to expand their operations.
