Discussing Queensland border reopening.
SUBJECT: Queensland border reopening.
SARAH STEWART, JOURNALIST: We are on the first flight from Sydney to Brisbane. And look who we've bumped into. This is such a big and emotional day, isn’t it?
ANTHONY ALBANESE, LEADER OF THE AUSTRALIAN LABOR PARTY: It is a big deal for families who haven't seen each other for a long time, people travelling to Brisbane for work like I am and you are, but it is a great day for Queensland. And a shout out to all those who got vaccinated and got those vaccination rates up, and Annastacia and her team for keeping Queenslanders safe.
STEWART: It is a day for us going to work. But I think the real focus today is for families.
ALBANESE: Absolutely.
STEWART: We've spoken to grandparents meeting their grandchildren for the first time, people who've got married in Greece and haven’t been able to come back. Can you imagine the emotion they must be feeling right now?
ALBANESE: It will be such a great day for them. They have waited months. And it has been much anticipated. It's been brought forward from Friday. There'll be great scenes at Brisbane airport in about an hour-and-a-half.
STEWART: And we will be there. He has his maroon tie on. But we will be there once the plane lands.
ALBANESE: Still have a Bunnies mask though. Maroon tie, Bunnies mask.
STEWART: We'll bring you all the reunions live when we get there.
