Welcoming Chris Lynch as Labor’s Candidate for Braddon

with Senator Anne Urquhart

It is with great pleasure that we welcome local councillor Chris Lynch as the endorsed Labor candidate for the electorate of Braddon at the next federal election.

Elected to Burnie City Council in 2014, Chris currently works with people living with disabilities and their families at St Giles.

He has lived and worked for most of his life in North West Tasmania, in the areas of education, youth, disability and the arts.

Anthony Albanese, Leader of the Australian Labor Party:

“This is a tired, out-of-touch and out-of-ideas Government who will be asking the people of Australia for more than a decade in power at the next election. Australians, and especially the people of Braddon, deserve better.”

“Chris is exactly the type of candidate I want to represent the people of North-West Tasmania – he’s local, he’s got a long history of serving the community and he cares about the issues that matter.”

“I look forward to welcoming Chris to my Labor team as the Member for Braddon after the next election.”

Senator Anne Urquhart:

“Chris is a hard-working and highly experienced community leader and will be an exceptional candidate for Braddon.”

“He is a familiar face to many who know him as a powerful advocate for the people of this region through his community work.”

“Chris is the kind of person who puts his energy into bringing people together to develop effective initiatives and shared understandings. He demonstrates a deep commitment to removing the barriers faced by some in our community so that no one is held back or left behind.”

“I look forward to working with him to make Braddon a better place where people can work, live and thrive.”
