Anthony Albanese has today welcomed the announcement by the NSW Government of a new purpose-built preschool at Wilkins Public School.

This new announcement is a win for the local school community, who campaigned for the preschool to stay open on the school grounds and continue to serve this local community.

Globe Wilkins Preschool has operated on the grounds of Wilkins Public School for over 20 years, providing high quality early childhood education for our local community.

The preschool now has the certainty it needs to continue providing high quality education to our vibrant and growing community.

“I thank the NSW Government and Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell for working constructively with the local school community to achieve this outcome,” Mr Albanese said.

“Over 90 per cent of human brain development occurs in the first five years of a child’s life,” he said.

“Labor believes in affordable, quality education for children.”

“Investment in child care and early learning is the most significant announcement that I’ve made as Leader of the Federal Labor Party. Labor values early childhood education in the Inner West and all over Australia.”
