Labor Commits To Upgrades At Home Of Brunswick City Soccer Club

A Shorten Labor Government would invest $50,000 to upgrade the Brunswick City Soccer Club’s home ground - the Dunstan Reserve in Brunswick West.

The investment would help the club install kitchen and catering facilities.

Brunswick City Soccer Club was founded in 1970 and now includes Senior’s, Women's, Junior’s and Veteran’s teams.

Shadow Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development Minister Anthony Albanese said sporting clubs like Brunswick City were a critical part of our community fabric.
“Sport brings people together and also supports healthy lifestyles,’’ Mr Albanese said.
“This club has become more than just a place to play sport. It is a place for local families to meet the local community and wider districts.’’
Member for Wills Peter Khalil said the Brunswick City upgrades would benefit the club immensely, as well as the community groups that share the facility with Brunswick City Soccer Club.
“I’ve visited Brunswick City Soccer Club several times since my election in 2016 to discuss their vision for the club and their facilities,’’ Mr Khalil said.
“I hope this funding is only the start of what we can achieve together under a future Shorten Labor Government.”
