This Friday 29 July 2005 is National Tree Day for Schools.
“National Tree Day for Schools is a great opportunity for young people to learn about the importance of our native trees,” said Anthony Albanese, Federal Member for Grayndler.
“Particularly in our urban electorate of Grayndler, this day provides an important chance for our young people to get actively involved in conservation, through both planting and looking after young trees.”
“This experience can help them learn more about the fundamental role our native trees play in absorbing pollution, acting as a noise buffer, and beautifying our suburban environment.”
As part of National Tree Day for Schools, Anthony will be attending Marrickville Public School’s opening of their Native Garden.
“Schools like Marrickville Public School provide a wonderful opportunity for our kids to learn about our natural environment, and how to help and respect it.”
