Making Australia a renewable energy superpower.

Australia has everything we need to meet our goal of Net Zero emission by 2050 and become a renewable energy superpower.

We’re backing Australian innovators and manufacturers to build the next generation of solar cells, batteries, and clean energy technology.

We’re ensuring get more wind and solar into our grid, powering our homes and businesses.

And we’re lifting our investment in resources like green hydrogen and critical minerals.

We have the world’s best resources and workers, and abundant wind, solar and other renewable forms of energy to power our economy.

Making more things here.

We will power the next generation of Australian manufacturing with cheaper and cleaner energy.

A Future Made in Australia is about creating new jobs and opportunities in every part of the country.

It’s about using our resources and minerals to make more things here, and sell them to the world.

And we’re streamlining approvals across environmental, planning, cultural heritage and foreign investment to build a more diversified and resilient economy.

Investing in education, research and development

We’re training Australians in the skills our country needs to reach Net Zero and build our future here in Australia.

Opening the doors of opportunity of higher education to more Australians, with $350 million for fee-free uni-ready courses, will mean skills growth in the clean energy, construction, and manufacturing sectors.

Along with the thousands of Fee Free TAFE places we’ve opened up around the country, we’ll make sure more Australians have the skills the need for good jobs today and into the future.

We’re investing in world-leading research and development, with investments in world-first quantum computing in Brisbane and in a satellite program to provide access to critical data to monitor the earth’s climate, agricultural production, and natural disasters.

Support for small businesses.

Small businesses are key to the health of our economy. They make up 90% of Australian businesses, and we want them to share in the opportunities that lie ahead.

By extending the $20,000 instant asset write-off until 30 June 2025, we’re supporting cash flow for up to 4 million small businesses.

And we’re investing in millions to help farmers and rural communities prepare for the changing climate and more severe weather.

Strengthening our defence industry capability.

We’re supporting an innovative, resilient and competitive defence industry that equips and sustains our Australian Defence Force, creates local jobs, and supports the Australian economy.

The additional $50 billion we are investing over ten years will support our focused and integrated Defence Force to meet our strategic needs.
