Today I have approved Perth Airport’s draft Major Development Plan which includes a significant expansion of its International Terminal.
The draft Plan involves an 80% expansion of the existing floor space in the terminal which would allow major upgrades to passenger processing, visitor services and ground transport.
The development also includes moving some domestic services to the International Terminal, expansion of passenger processing and waiting areas and additional aircraft parking areas.
All submissions received during the consultation period were supportive of the proposal.
Perth Airport has seen significant growth in the last few years and this expansion will provide it with the appropriate infrastructure and services to ensure it meets those needs.
