Questions To The Speaker Environment And Heritage Committee Report

Mr ALBANESE (Grayndler) (3.20 p.m.)—Mr Speaker, I have a question to you. I refer to the Sustainable cities report of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Environment and Heritage, dated August 2005, which was tabled on 12 September 2005. This is a serious report to which there has been no government response yet. Could you please write to the relevant government ministers and ask them to respond to this bipartisan report on behalf of the government?

The SPEAKER—I thank the Manager of Opposition Business. As he would be aware, that report is listed on the schedule of outstanding reports. It is not the chair’s prerogative to do more than that, but the shadow minister may wish to direct his question to the responsible minister or, if he chooses to, he could also write to the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Procedure
