QUESTIONS TO THE SPEAKER – Question Time
22 May 2007
Mr ALBANESE (Grayndler) (3.22 p.m.)—Mr Speaker, I refer you to the statement by the Prime Minister in question time regarding the single desk and wheat and to whether that was in breach of standing order 98(d)(ii), which clearly outlaws the announcing of government policy during question time. I would ask you to examine that and report back to the House as to whether that is an appropriate policy to be followed in the future or whether it would be more appropriate for announcements of policy to be made in the form of ministerial statements.
The SPEAKER—I thank the Manager of Opposition Business. I will have a look at the matter he has raised.
