Staff Appointment
Mr Gartrell is a former National Secretary of the Labor Party and directed Labor’s successful 2007 federal election campaign.
More recently he was the National Director for the successful campaign for a YES vote in the marriage equality postal survey in 2017.
We go back a long way.
Mr Gartrell was my campaign manager when I first contested and won my seat of Grayndler back in 1996.
Born and raised in regional New South Wales, Mr Gartrell, 48, understands the policy challenges facing our great nation.
Because of his extensive experience in administrative, political and private sector roles, Mr Gartrell is ideally placed to lead my office while my parliamentary team and I review the May 18 election outcome and build a policy platform worthy of the support of the Australian people at the next election.
