Wilga Avenue Dulwich Hill Wins Sustainability Drive

Labor Member for Grayndler Anthony Albanese today congratulated residents of Wilga Avenue in Dulwich Hill on winning the NSW Sustainability Drive competition organised by Origin Energy.
Up to 20 houses in Wilga Avenue will share up to $250,000 worth of prizes to make their homes more sustainable, including solar panels, energy efficient hot water systems, home energy audits and in-home displays of energy usage as well as green electricity and gas. "This is a great example of neighbours getting together and talking about shared interests," said Mr Albanese.
"They started with community gardens along the verges in the street, then decided they wanted to make Wilga Avenue carbon-neutral. They're working hard to make that goal a reality and this great award will help them get there."
Wilga Avenue is one of four winners nationwide out of nearly 9000 entries. Origin Energy says it is aiming to have all the energy saving improvements made by the end of the year.
