Women's Homelessness And Youth Services At Risk

Today in Parliament I spoke about the NSW Liberals’ cuts to women’s homelessness services and asked the Abbott Government to reconsider their cuts to Youth Connections programs.

Both of these callous cuts to services will have a disastrous impact on women and young people in the Inner West.
This year is the 40th anniversary of the Leichhardt Women’s Community Health Centre and I know it makes a real difference in the lives of women in the Inner West who need that extra support.
These are mean spirited cuts which affect women escaping domestic violence and vulnerable young people.
This will have a serious impact on the capacity of women’s services, as well as organisations that run Youth Connections programs, to continue supporting those most at risk in our community.
