Albanese Backs Residents On Tempe Water Tower

Member for Grayndler Anthony Albanese today declared his support for the concerns of Tempe residents over the proposal to paint the Tempe Water Tower in a corporate logo.

"I have conveyed the strong representations which I have received from local residents to the operators of Sydney Airport," said Mr Albanese.

"The residents' concerns should be respected given the tower's close proximity to their homes and, as their local member, I have called upon Sydney Airport to rethink this proposal."

Last Friday, Tempe residents received a letter from Sydney Airport informing them the tower would be repainted in the corporate colours of Tiger Airways. The tower in Old Street, Tempe, is on Sydney Airport land and used to provide water to the airport.
